A ‘requirement’ is a formal statement of an attribute to be possessed by a product or service. It is a characteristic that a system or service must possess in order for it to be acceptable to the acquirer or ‘customer’ of the service.
Customer requirements are expressed as 'needs and wants' and moderated, then translated into service capabilities.
